Curtis on PPP Funding: "The Time is Now"
Washington, DC,
April 17, 2020
Provo, UT—Today, Representative John Curtis (R-UT), released the following statement after the US Small Business Administration exhausted its allotted funds for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Earlier this week, Senate Democrats blocked $250 billion in funding for the small-business program. “Funding for Paycheck Protection Program loans is absolutely critical to helping Utah’s small business community, which accounts for 90% of Utah businesses, survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Adding unnecessary spending, or unrelated agendas, puts personal politics over our hard-working small business owners,” said Curtis. “It’s past time to pass this additional assistance. I’m willing and ready to hop on the next flight back to Washington to cast my vote in favor of what we can all see is needed—and needed quickly. We must act now.” ### |
