WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman John Curtis voted for H.R. 3, the Spending Cuts to Expired and Unnecessary Programs Act. This bill cuts nearly $15 billion in unused and unnecessary government spending. Following the passage of H.R. 3 by the House of Representatives today, Congressman Curtis issued the following statement:

“When I came to Congress, I made the promise to Utahns that I would bring the Utah values of fiscal responsibility and restraint with me to Washington. Today, I am continuing to deliver on that promise by voting for the largest spending cut recession package in U.S. history,” said Curtis. “Let me be clear. This $15 billion spending cut is only a small step in the right direction toward reigning in Washington’s chronic wasteful spending problem.”
